The coming Lichun (立春) in 2012 for the year of dragon is on Thursday, 4th February, 2012. This is the day when the Feng Shui flying stars switch places.

Remember to use ezFlyingStar to check the 9 palaces’ location and apply the respective Feng Shui solutions.

API Boycott

There’s a war going on lately, a digital war on legal aspect. As you might have read elsewhere, in-app purchase patent trolling is haunting iOS developers and the whole App Store economy I would say. Mike Lee, a Mac developer & former iOS developer, is proposing to boycott the API all together.

I’m not affected yet as I don’t produce apps with in-app purchase but it’s surely time for Apple to make some announcement whether developers need to pay for the vampires or not. I’m sure no one wants to be Lodsysed ever.

Helping Japan

TUAW has posted a summary of developers & apps to help Japan. In short, simply download or purchase some development tools or iOS apps, the developer will donate money to Japan via various means.

Please note that some effort is time limited. For instance, Capcom will give 100% of their iOS app sales until 21st March, 2011.

If you prefer, you can help directly by donating to your local charity, such as Red Cross.

Apple Store coming to Hong Kong finally

So South China Morning Post said that Apple is indeed opening 15,000 square foot Apple Store in IFC, Hong Kong by 2011 and then a 20,000 square foot Apple Store in Hysan Place, Causeway Bay next year. The store will be a tourist spot then. Just hope it’s not jammed by people trying to use the free Internet or free phone calls 8D
